Frequently Asked Questions.

And a few fun facts too…

+ Why Dino?

We like to think that Dino, pronounced /ˈdiːnəʊ/, is incredibly cute, and he is tonnes of fun too! You surely remember Dino the animated character playing the part of the pet dog we used to love watching when we were kids? (We still do, but let’s keep it a secret!). Dino is sweet… like chocolate! And since chocolate is happiness, so is Dino! Bingo! Dino thinks that happiness is chocolate brownies falling from the sky, sharing a chocolate brownie, unexpected chocolate brownie in the post, first and last bite of chocolate brownie – and every single one of those in-between. Most of all, happiness is when Dino is making chocolate brownies and sharing them with you, so share yours too!

+ Why does chocolate make me happy?

Eating dark chocolate boosts production of feel-good chemicals called endorphins. Endorphins lead in the brain to feelings of euphoria, like the kind of joggers get from “runner’s high”. They also reduce pain and diminish the negative effects of stress and contribute to overall positive mood and feeling of happiness. Our Chocolate Dino Brownies are packed with happiness! And they contain loads of dark chocolate too!

+ What ingredients do you use to make Dinos so delicious?

We only marry together the finest ingredients to make our brownies. We proudly use 100% Belgian couverture chocolate, Belgian dark, milk, white and orange chocolate chunks, real butter, 100% cocoa powder, free-range eggs, fair-trade sugar, and just the right amount of flour to make sure all Dinos are silky smooth, not cakey. We do not use any preservatives.

+ Are Chocolate Dino Brownies suitable for vegetarians?

Yes, all our brownies are suitable for vegetarians.

+ Are Chocolate Dino Brownies gluten-free or vegan?

Some of our brownies are gluten free and these are clearly marked in the name as "Gluten Free brownies". We do offer as well one option for vegans (please see our shop for "Vegan" section.

+ What allergens are there in Dino Brownies?

Allergens including and not limited to eggs, wheat (gluten), milk, soya and nuts are all ingredients used in our kitchen. Therefore, though only two of the pack - Totally Nuts Dino and You-Drive-Me-Mangos Dino contain nuts as an ingredient (peanuts and sesame, and walnuts respectively), we are not able to guarantee that traces of these and other allergens can be excluded from our brownies. We do provide a full allergen list with our brownie listing online (please check the link at the left bottom corner of our page). If you wish to ask or learn more about our ingredients or allergens, please contact us by email at askdino@chocolatedinocompany.co.uk.

+ How do I store my Dino Brownies?

There aren’t any hard and fast rules when it comes to the shelf life of brownies. Ours will be at their eating best when they arrive, served at room temperature. That is how we like them. If you decide to save some and indulge yourself later, we recommend you do not keep them in the fridge. Store them in an airtight container, and they will stay in perfect form for 7-10 days. Though we genuinely doubt you will manage to wait that long before another helping. You can also keep them frozen for up to 3 months, please wrap them individually before freezing and when the time comes, defrost at ambient temperature.

+ Can I warm up my Dino Brownies?

Yes, you can! In fact, this is an excellent idea. Maximum of 20 sec in a microwave on the highest setting will do them just fine. We like to add a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of ours. And yes, we know it is totally naughty. That’s why we do it!

+ How big are Chocolate Dino Brownies?

We are very glad you asked. Individual Dinos are hand cut to the approximate size of 6 cm x 6 cm each. We will let you decide how many bites that is. Cheeky, we know!

+ What weight are Chocolate Dino Brownies?

Get ready for some heavy lifting! We use only the finest ingredients and load our Dinos with a hefty amount of 100% Belgian chocolate to ensure maximum serving of happiness. Individual Dino’s weight will be around 75g, however as they are all handmade, this may vary slightly. We will always aim for the pack of six to be at least 450g in total. Two thumbs up champion!

+ Can I purchase a pack of Dino Brownies as a gift?

Of course! All our Chocolate Dino Brownies are loaded with chocolate, and chocolate is happiness, right? So, whether it is a birthday celebration, a thank-you gift, or simply a way of brightening someone’s day, we will be thrilled to delight them. Consider it done!
